Luna Piena & Solstizio

Parlando della Luna Piena, vedremo un posizionamento lunare insolitamente ambrato, in basso, all’1 di notte nella notte tra il 21 e il 22 giugno.

Questo è vicino al solstizio d’estate, quando il Sole è più alto, anche se arriva esattamente direttamente dalle Hawaii e, raramente, dalla Florida più meridionale.

Poiché la Luna Piena è sempre opposta al Sole, sfrutta l’occasione del solstizio per scendere nel suo punto più basso nello zodiaco, in Sagittario.

Ma c’è di più. L’orbita inclinata della Luna ruota attorno alla Terra in un periodo di 18 anni e mezzo, come un piatto caduto che sbatacchia un po’ prima di stabilizzarsi.

Quest’anno, sta flirtando con il suo angolo di oscillazione estremo, che fa sì che la Luna affondi di 10 larghezze lunari in più rispetto a quanto il Sole possa mai andare.

Quindi guarda la Luna quella notte se sei sveglio nell’ora dopo mezzanotte. Questo è il momento in cui la Luna Piena è sempre più alta per tutta la notte.

Ma guarda quanto è basso. Questo punto estremamente basso-alto è il pareggio.

Può sembrare paradossale, ma colpisce davvero se visto dal vivo. E, dopo tutto, eventi del genere si verificano solo poche volte nella vita. Maggiori informazioni sulla luna piena delle fragole di giugno.

Solstice & Full Moon

Speaking of the Full Moon, we will see an unusually amber, low-down lunar placement at 1 AM on the night of June 21-22. That’s near the summer solstice, when the Sun is highest up, although it only ever gets exactly straight up from Hawaii and, rarely,

southernmost Florida. Since the Full Moon is always opposite the Sun, it uses the solstice occasion to sink to its very lowest point in the zodiac, in Sagittarius. But there’s more. The Moon’s tilted orbit revolves around Earth in an 18 ½ year period, like a dropped dinner plate rattling around a bit before settling flat.

This year, it’s flirting with its extreme angle of wobble, which makes the Moon sink an extra 10 Moon-widths lower than the Sun ever gets to go. So watch the Moon that night if you’re awake in the hour after midnight.

That’s when the Full Moon is always highest-up for the entire night. But see how very low it is. This extreme low-high point is the draw. It may sound paradoxical, but it really stands out when viewed in person. And, after all, such once-every-18-years events only come around a few times in one’s life.
